History of Adams Funeral Home
Started in 1900, the Adams Funeral Home began with the formation of Denning and Ragsdale casket business. The firm contracted with the builders of Marlin’s Hilton Hotel in 1929 to construct a Spanish revival funeral home. In 1932, Dave Denning sold his interest to John Barnes Adams, who then operated the business until 1971. The firm was then purchased by James Wilkey and James Glockzin, who ran the funeral home until their retirement in 1993. After that, the Adams Funeral Home became affiliated with the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
