History of Auman's, Inc.
Founded in 1889, Theo C. Auman, Inc. Funeral Home expanded in 1988 to become Auman's Inc. at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Auman's Inc. has been an important part of our community for more than a century. Forest Hills Memorial Park was established in 1936 by Reading businessman Harry Boardman. Mr. Boardman's goal was to establish the most beautiful cemetery with a natural park-like setting in the country. He traveled throughout the United States, visiting dozens of cemeteries to get the ideas he used to achieve his goal.
Forest Hills Memorial Park is situated across from Auman's Inc. on 125 acres replete with established trees, well-kept landscaping and a variety of wildlife. Forest Hills Memorial Park provides a tranquil place to honor the memory of loved ones. Adding to the appeal, our park includes rolling hills, woodlands, picturesque natural rock outcroppings and a pond with a fountain feature. Our convenient location provides families with serenity and privacy but is still close enough to town for easy accessibility. Auman's and Forest Hills Memorial Park can provide translators for our Greek- and Spanish-speaking families.
