The history of Blake-Lamb Funeral Home begins on Canal Street in Chicago in 1880. At the time, the Blake family lived on the top floor, the funeral home was on the middle floor and the stable for the horses, which pulled the hearse, was at ground level. From this humble but solid beginning, we have grown to be one of the most recognized names in funeral homes in Chicago and throughout Illinois.
On March 5, 1980, a resolution was entered by the 81st General Assembly of the Illinois House of Representatives to commend Blake-Lamb Funeral Home for 100 years of service to the Chicagoland area.
Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, under the guidance of Matt & Richard Lamb, joined the Dignity Memorial network of more than 1,600 funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. As a Dignity Memorial provider, we can offer exclusive products and services only available through our network.
From humble beginnings of a funeral home above a stable to cutting-edge celebrations that capture life stories in words and pictures, Blake-Lamb Funeral Home continues to hold strong roots while providing unparalleled service from staff members who serve their neighbors and friends.
