History of Boice Funeral Home
In 1913, Boice Funeral Home began serving families from a building located near Fourth Street and Pollasky Avenue. At that time, the funeral home was called Beal Brothers Funeral Home. In 1929, Mr. and Mrs. Boice borrowed $5,000 and built a new funeral home and residence at Boice’s current address at the southwest corner of Third Street and Pollasky Avenue. The funeral home was renamed Arthur Boice Undertaking.

With Mrs. Boice’s assistance in all phases of the family business, the funeral home became known for its unique feature of having a "Lady Attendant" who helped Arthur Boice serve families. The family tradition continued through the years, including the Boices’ daughter Maxine and son-in-law Clyde Barnett serving the Clovis, rural Fresno and foothill communities.

When Mr. Boice passed away in 1964, Mrs. Boice, known as "Mrs. B.," continued to operate the funeral home. In 1977, Mrs. Boice sold Boice Funeral Home to their long-time family friends at Lisle Funeral Home of Fresno.

Today, we’re proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. Dignity Memorial providers offer exclusive benefits, including National Transferability of Prearranged Services, the Bereavement Travel Program, the 24-Hour Compassion Helpline® and access to an acclaimed grief management library. As North America’s largest provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services, the Dignity Memorial brand is your assurance of quality, value, caring service and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Through the years, we have been called to serve our neighbors, friends, mayors, civic leaders, dignitaries and the pioneer and heritage families of Clovis with their arrangements. We are equally proud to be called to serve police, fire and deputy sheriffs, and we are honored to serve members of any branch of the armed forces who have given the ultimate sacrifice to our country.

We have been honored by the Clovis City Council with a pioneer business proclamation, a State Senate Proclamation, and a Congressional Recognition award. The funeral home has grown and developed with professional directors and prearrangement specialists who serve all families with discretion and honor. We are local people dedicated to serving our community, neighbors and friends for more than 96 years. At Boice Funeral Home, our only commitment is to you.
