History of Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home

Butler Funeral Home opened in 1905 under the name Joseph A. Butler Funeral Home. Ever since, we've been helping our friends and neighbors through the most difficult time of their lives. Throughout the years, we've affiliated with others known for exceptional service, such as Ralph Fulton and Eddie Nickel, whose Fulton-Nickel Funeral Home, established in 1928, joined us in 1968.

Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens first opened in 1948 in what was then a very rural area of Wyandotte County, Kansas. Since then, we have been providing an environment for our friends and neighbors seeking a peaceful final resting place for them and their loved ones. Through the years, we have given our families peace of mind, very often at the most difficult time of their lives. As our surrounding area of Kansas City has seen many changes through the years, so has our park.

We listen to our client families and make changes to fit their needs. Some of those changes include the addition of our Lakeside Mausoleum, our Lawn Crypt Garden and special features specifically designed for cremation. We have become the cemetery of choice for thousands of families of all religious backgrounds, dedicating ourselves to taking excellent care of our friends and neighbors. In 2002, we were honored to be the chosen site for the new Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, which opened in 2003.Chapel Hill has been the cemetery of choice for thousands of families of all religious backgrounds, and is well known for taking excellent care of our friends and neighbors since 1948.
