History of Chapel Hill Funeral Home
In 1979, Wayne and Nina Bishop began discussing the concept of opening a funeral home that would serve the growing and surrounding northern Calhoun County. In 1980, this concept was transformed into reality when the Bishop Family broke ground on a lot located at the intersection of Saks Road and Highway 431. Construction was completed a year later, and on October 2, 1981, Wayne and Nina Bishop opened the doors to Chapel Hill Funeral Home. The October 2nd dedication service was held in the chapel, officially opening "the most modern funeral home in the North Calhoun County area."

From the first funeral service in October of 1981 until now, Chapel Hill Funeral Home has maintained a high level of professional excellence and service with a staff that is attentive to meeting the needs of each family with personal care and dignity. Today, Chapel Hill Funeral Home is able to provide a complete selection of memorable options for families at their time of need. As part of the Dignity Memorial® network, we are proud to offer exclusive benefits, including National Transferability of Prearranged Services, the Bereavement Travel Program, the 24-Hour Compassion Helpline® and access to an acclaimed grief management library.

We strive to continuously evolve to meet the needs of all families and religious faiths, while maintaining leadership as the funeral home of choice in the northern Calhoun County and surrounding area. Serving families with dignity and compassion is a trademark of our spirit and service to our community.
