In 1934, Claude Boyd founded what is now Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, in Babylon Village, NY. It was located in a store front on East Main St. in the heart of the village. A large facility was not needed as most families had the funeral at their home.
As the village grew, there was a need for a larger building, so he acquired our present location in 1954. This magnificent, lakeside estate became the premier funeral establishment for the surrounding area. Despite acquiring a larger location, more room was needed and the building was expanded in 1965.
The manicured grounds lend itself to the peace and serenity that makes it a beautiful place to celebrate the life of those we love. We are honored to carry on the vision of our founder, Claude Boyd, but most of all, continue the legacy of care and compassion that is the foundation of our mission.
