History of Colonial Funeral Home

In 1968, Mr. Cage and Mr. Marshall established what was known as Cage-Marshall Funeral Home. Later that year, Cage-Marshall was purchased by Mr. Piper and renamed it Piper Funeral Home. In 1979, the funeral home was sold to Mr. Gaylan Duncan and was named Colonial Funeral Home as it is known today.

In January 1999, Colonial Funeral Home was acquired by an affiliate of Service Corporation International and ultimately became part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.

Colonial Funeral Home began with a commitment to a high standard of service more than 40 years ago, and throughout our history we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining those high standards of service. Everyone at Colonial Funeral Home is proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to the Taft community.
