History of Colonial Funeral Home
In October 1880, the Lampton’s, a well-known family in Marion County, Mississippi, started a mercantile store complete with a funeral department called the Lampton Company. Around 1900, the Lampton Company, employed its first professional embalmer. In 1914, the funeral business moved to a remodeled home in Columbia, Mississippi.

In 1937, a group of businessmen met to incorporate what is now known as Colonial Funeral Home.

In 1993, Colonial Funeral Home was purchased by an affiliate of Service Corporation International.

Today, we are proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network.
