Condra Funeral Home has proudly operated from its original Talbot Street location in Taylor, Texas, since 1921. The facility, originally built as a home around 1900, has been enlarged and remodeled several times; adding a chapel, a casket showroom, additional staterooms and garages. Remodeling in 1999-2000 moved the beautiful antique stained glass windows to the front of the building.
The rich heritage of Condra Funeral Home can be attributed to several people. Fontaine Forwood founded the Forwood Funeral Home in 1910. In the late 1930s, Ray Condra joined the firm, and changed the firm’s name to the Forwood-Condra Funeral Home. Additional branches were added in Round Rock and Granger in the 1950s.
In 1992, Condra Funeral Home was purchased by an affiliate of Service Corporation International and ultimately became part of
the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. When you choose a Dignity Memorial provider, you not only receive the compassionate care you expect from a locally operated establishment, but also the value you deserve from the largest and most trusted network of funeral, cremation and memorialization services. We are committed to exceeding expectations and delivering a higher standard of service designed to help our client families through one of the most personal and challenging stages of life.
Whether services are held in your church or our chapel, Condra Funeral Home has the complete facilities and professional staff needed to carry out an inspiring final tribute with beauty and dignity. It is an honor to serve the families of Taylor and the surrounding communities.
