Edgewood Cemetery was founded more than 150 years ago in 1865 as a family cemetery. Over time, friends and neighbors were invited to use the cemetery for the burial of their loved ones and it became the cemetery for all the families in the area. Today, Edgewood remains one of the oldest, largest and most picturesque cemeteries in northeast Florida.
The cemetery was then expanded to some 45 acres used for burials, serving an expanded market in the Jacksonville community. In the 1970s, the cemetery was sold to a private individual as a for-profit cemetery and in the 1990s, Edgewood join the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
Throughout our history, we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining those high standards of service. As a Dignity Memorial provider in northeast Florida, we are proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.
