History of Edward F. Carter Funeral Home
Edward F. Carter Funeral Home was founded by Edward F. Carter in 1950, with locations in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and Montrose, New York. Carter was employed at that time by the New York Central Railroad System, working in Croton-on-Hudson.
Working with his wife, Catherine, and his sons, Edward, Jr., and Richard, the family spent the next 20 years serving every area cemetery. After his death in 1972, his son, Edward F. Carter Jr. continued the family business, growing it to become the largest funeral providers in the area. It was hard work, dedication and genuine compassion for our families that enabled the funeral homes to grow and flourish.
