Flag Retirement Ceremony at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home

LARGO, Fla. - October 29, 2014

In honor of Veterans Day, members of the community are invited to bring their unusable U.S. flags to Serenity Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home to be ceremoniously retired in a flag retirement ceremony at noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 on the grounds of Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Road in Largo.

 

"It is a great honor to be the host of this event that ensures that our nation's flags are retired with the dignity and respect they deserve," said Jay Hering, general manager at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home. "We hope to pay tribute to all the men and women who have proudly protected our freedom and our nation's most distinguished symbol by retiring the unfit flags in a dignified way."

 

Unfit or unusable U.S. flags may be dropped off at the funeral home or cemetery office prior to the ceremony or on the day of the event.
