Salute to America’s Veterans at U.S.S. Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum

San Diego, CA - October 08, 2012

Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary, an honored Dignity Memorial provider in Bonita, along with VITAS invites the community to join together on Friday, November 2 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at the U.S.S. Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, 910 North Harbor Drive in San Diego, to recognize the service and sacrifice of today’s veterans and remember the veterans of yesterday. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature active duty military and girl scouts, performances by special guests, special recognition for service men and women in attendance, patriotic music and stories, the Color Guard of the San Diego Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and an opportunity to hang a ribbon to remember a veteran. Following the event, refreshments will be available in the Fantail Café provided by Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary. Attendees will get free admission to the U.S.S. Midway Museum during the event.

 

Parking is available alongside Midway on Navy Pier (regular rates apply). Metered parking is available on the street. Buses may drop off on Navy Pier near the entrance of Midway.

 

“This special event in honor of Veterans Day is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the men and women who have served and who have sacrificed,” said Sean Bulthuis, manager of Glen Abbey. “We hope the families who join us gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of honoring our military, whether that is those currently enlisted or veterans who served in the past.”
