Vietnam-Era MIA Air Force Maj. Louis Fulda Guillermin to Receive Military Funeral After 45 Years

MANAHAWKIN, N.J - October 24, 2013

Missing in action for 45 years, Air Force Maj. Louis Fulda Guillermin will receive a graveside service with full military honors on Saturday, October 5 at 12 p.m. at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 Westchester Pike in Broomall. The public is welcome to attend the burial service. Military funeral honors will include the folding and presentation of the American flag, a gun salute and the playing of Taps. A funeral service will precede the burial at 10 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Oxford.

Maj. Guillermin, born in West Chester on Jan. 6, 1943, was killed in action along with one other crew member aboard an A-26A invader aircraft that crashed in Laos on April 30, 1968. After 45 years, Maj. Guillermin’s remains were identified and his family was notified. The son of Wister and Myrtle Booker Guillermin, Maj. Guillermin was a graduate of West Chester University. He is survived by five cousins. The Louis F. Guillermin Vietnam Veterans Chapter #436 in Phoenixville is named in his honor.
