History of Green Acres Memorial Park
When Green Acres Memorial Park & Mortuary was first developed in the 1950s, it was designed using what was then a novel approach – an open, park-like atmosphere that provided lush lawns and a vast array of gardens in which to reflect and honor loved ones. Green Acres is also unusual because it was built all at once and not in phases. For this reason, properties are not limited to select locations, but are available throughout all of our unique and immaculately manicured gardens. Families benefit from the freedom of finding the right resting place on our grounds for their needs, which also provides added serenity and privacy.
Green Acres is known for its unique features made of Italian Carrara marble. Each was designed by the world famous contemporary sculptor Bernard Zackerman in Carrara, Italy, and brings splendor and beauty throughout our park. There is a generous assortment of choices for every memorial need. Throughout the park, peaceful and ornate touches abound. Sidewalk paths lead to beautiful mausoleum spaces. Our Cross Garden, set high on a hill, offers a beautiful view of our surrounding areas. Many families enjoy the serenity of Mirror Lake for traditional burials and the reflective spirit it embodies.
