In late 1909, local Renton undertaker James Tachell purchased the Biel Ranch with the intention of converting it into a cemetery. On February 25, 1910, Greenwood Memorial Park conducted its first burial. There have been a few changes through the years, but some things remain the same. Greenwood is still one of the most beautiful burial places in King County and we still provide dignified arrangements. We are respectful of the cultural and religious differences in our community, and our professional staff is supportive and attentive to the unique needs of each family.
