Our firm was established in its present location in 1926 by J.F. Galley and was first named the J.F. Galley Funeral Home. In February 1945, Walter E. Griffith, a funeral director from Uniontown, Pennsylvania, moved his family to the South Park area and purchased the business, creating Griffith Mortuary.
In January 1962, William E. Griffith, Sr., Walter’s son, took over the firm, and worked as supervisor and took part in the day-to-day operations until his death in September 2008. Griffith Mortuary is currently a Dignity Memorial® provider with the daily operations continuing with the involvement of the Griffith family.
We are proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. Dignity Memorial providers offer exclusive benefits, including National Transferability of Prearranged Services, the Bereavement Travel Program, the 24-Hour Compassion Helpline® and access to an acclaimed grief management library. These are additional ways that we can continue to offer our families the best possible quality and caring service that we can make available.
As North America’s largest provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services, the Dignity Memorial brand is your assurance of quality, value, caring service and exceptional customer satisfaction.
