History of Hathaway-Myers Dignity Memorial Chapel

Hathaway-Myers Chapel was founded in 1894 as Davidson Henderson Funeral Home. In 1907, Walter Hathaway bought the business and renamed it Hathaway and Son Funeral Home. He and his son, Paul Hathaway, owned and operated the firm and after several relocations, the funeral home made its final residency in 1947 in one of Columbus, Indiana’s most historic homes.

Paul’s son, John Hathaway, joined the family business as owner and operator for many years until Pat Myers purchased it from him in 1972. He then changed the name of the funeral home to Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel.

Today, we are a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network dedicated to delivering a standard of service that is 100% guaranteed. The Davidson Henderson Funeral Home began with a commitment to a high standard of service, and throughout our history we have continued to uphold those high standards. Everyone at Hathaway-Myers Chapel, Myers-Reed Chapel and The Columbus Crematory are proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.
