History of Hockemeyer Funeral Home
The Oetting family started what is now the Hockemeyer Funeral home in the early 1900s. The funeral home was located in downtown Harlan, Indiana, before moving to its current location at 17629 State Road 37.
The funeral home was purchased by the Hockemeyer’s in 1970 and changed the name to Hockemeyer Funeral Home. It has now been at the same location for more than 50 years serving Harlan and the surrounding communities. In 1999, Hockemeyer Funeral Home became affiliated with the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
