History of LaMonica Memorial Home
The LaMonica Memorial Home has been serving families with compassion and care since November 29, 1959, when R. Samuel and Josephine Z. LaMonica opened its doors. The location provided residents of Bloomfield and the surrounding communities with a standard of service far beyond expectation. The LaMonicas offered a sense of trust and comfort to all families they served throughout the years. After 25 years, their daughter, Josette, joined the funeral home operation.

The LaMonica family has built a reputation of service and generosity within the community. Mr. & Mrs. LaMonica were active members of numerous social and civic organizations and received countless awards for their efforts and dedication. Their never-ending generosity made them pillars of the community. Together, they built a legacy of comfort and friendship to all who came to know them. Although their daughter, Josette, manages the funeral home, Jo LaMonica, has remained a driving force behind the reputation of the LaMonica Memorial Home.

Over the years, the LaMonica family saw a need to grow their facility. The building was enlarged to accommodate more families efficiently and additional parking was added. While thriving as an independent and family-owned business, the LaMonicas felt the community would benefit from joining the largest network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. In 1997, LaMonica Memorial Home became a member of the Dignity Memorial® network. Also in 1997, the passing of Mr. LaMonica was a loss for the entire community. His legacy remains with his family, and the members of the Dignity Memorial network continue to provide the level of service that has become synonymous with the LaMonica heritage.

In 2005, The LaMonica Memorial Home opened an additional location in Livingston to better serve the large population that moved from the Bloomfield community. Later that same year, the businesses were consolidated into one and the Bloomfield location was closed. The Livingston location shares facilities with the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, but operates as a single location. Josette continues to provide the compassionate service her family instilled in her.
