History of Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc.
In 1972, J.E. Lowell Lemmon founded what is now the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. at our present location on Padonia Road. Originally named Lemmon-Mitchell-Weidefeld Funeral Home, J.E. Lowell opened the funeral home after his father closed the funeral home he ran on Park Heights Avenue in the Old Pimlico neighborhood of Baltimore City in 1969.
With the community moving to the suburbs of Baltimore County, Mr. Lemmon decided to open the location in the Timonium and Cockeysville area. Mr. Lemmon ran the funeral home with a strong compassion and commitment to the area until his death in 1989. During this time, he passed on this compassion and commitment to his staff that still works at the funeral home today. Following Mr. Lemmon’s death, his wife T. Joyce Lemmon, continued to serve the families of Baltimore County and changed the name to the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. in 1995.
The staff at Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. has carried on the tradition of excellence that Mr. Lemmon started, and continues to lead and innovate while maintaining the same high standards of service. Everyone at the Lemmon Funeral home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. is proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.
