Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary was established by Harmon A. Smith in 1966 as the Harmon A. Smith Funeral Home. Donald J. Lima Sr. purchased the funeral home in 1974 and changed its name to Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary. At the time, it was the second funeral home to bear the name of Lima Family.
Together with Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel of San Jose, the Lima Family Mortuaries developed a reputation of compassionate, caring service and set a standard of service beyond expectation. Mr. Lima went on to open Cedar Lawn Memorial Park and Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary.
The Lima Family Mortuaries were purchased by a subsidiary of Service Corporation International in 1986. As members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers, they have continued to deliver service beyond expectation. Today, Mr. Lima’s son and granddaughter continue the Lima Family legacy.
