The excellence and dedication of Lindsey Funeral Home dates back to the year of 1929 when William Bernard Lindsey, Sr., founded the establishment in Harrisonburg during the Great Depression. He and his wife, Jesse Foley Lindsey, opened the business in the Campbell Hotel Building where they operated for several years until moving to its present site on South Main Street. After his death, his wife and two sons, William B. Lindsey, Jr., and Harold T. "Bucky" Lindsey continued in the tradition of excellence in funeral service.
Lindsey Funeral Homes became the largest and most requested in the area due to the total dedication and service of the Lindsey family. Today, some of the employees who worked for the Lindsey family are still here providing the same excellent service the community has come to expect and deserve.
