Malec & Sons Funeral Home was founded by B.F. Malec in 1935 and the original location was at 834 N. Ashland Avenue in Chicago. Adrian Malec, son of founder Ben Malec, explained that during the depression years, families struggled to afford a funeral and his father would take of each family regardless of what they could spend. As economic times improved, Malec & Sons Funeral Home was remodeled, and in 1941, opened with six chapels at the Ashland location.
As business continued to grow for Malec & Sons, the decision was made to relocate the funeral home. In 1969, the funeral home moved to its present location at 6000 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago.
B.F Malec began with a commitment to a high standard of service, and throughout our history, we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining those high standards of service. Everyone at Malec and Sons Funeral Home is proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.
