History of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home

Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home began in 1928 as Miller-Reynolds Funeral Home in downtown Bremerton, Washington. Several years later, Woodlawn Memorial Park was developed in the spring of 1940. Construction of the existing funeral home began in the late 1960s, and the “Chapel on the Hill” was dedicated on November 10, 1968.. Situated on the hill overlooking Oyster Bay with a spectacular view of Mount Rainier, Miller-Woodlawn's ”Chapel on the Hill” offers a beautiful environment in which families can remember and honor their loved ones.

In 1970, Mr. and Mrs. James Miller and Mrs. Richard Berg announced the merger of the Miller and Woodlawn funeral homes, creating the Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park of today

In 1988, Miller-Woodlawn was purchased by an affiliate of Service Corporation International, and today is a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. Our caring and professional staff assists families by offering a full range of funeral and cremation services and memorialization options, including mausoleum and lawn crypt selections for both burial and cremation. The staff of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park actively supports Bremerton and the Olympic Peninsula areas, hosting community programs that include educational sessions for veterans, seniors and families. We are dedicated to serving all families with integrity, respect, excellence and enduring relationships.
