History of Monte Vista Park Cemetery
Monte Vista Park Cemetery was dedicated in 1924. The cemetery’s mausoleum was built in 1945, with an addition built in 1954. The building itself is a piece of artwork with white marble from the floor to the ceiling in the interior chapel. There are also 11 private mausoleums on the grounds.

Monte Vista also features a section called Mount Sinai, which is dedicated to the Jewish community. The cemetery’s newest section opened in 1988 and is growing into a showplace for monuments. The park boasts one of the most beautiful panoramic views in Southern West Virginia from high atop its mountain ridge.
