Moore Funeral Home was established in 1910 by Hugh M. and Mary Moore, to meet the funeral needs of local residents. In the 1930s, the Moore’s established Parkdale Cemetery adjacent to the old city cemetery near downtown Arlington. With the addition of Highway 80 connecting Fort Worth and Dallas, the Moore’s moved the funeral home there. After purchasing White Chapel Memorial Gardens in the late 1950s, the Moore’s later built the funeral home on North Davis Drive. Since then, a long-time associate, Watson Frazar, has helped continue what the Moore family began.
Frazar moved to Arlington in 1966, building the Frazar Mortuary, which he later sold to the Moore family. In the 1980s, Moore built their newest chapel at the corner of Bowen Road and Pleasant Springs near I-20 to accommodate the rapidly growing needs of Southeast Tarrant County.
