History of Mount Comfort Cemetery
Chartered as a cemetery in 1945, Mount Comfort Cemetery exists on historic property. One of two subdivisions that was originally the Cleish Estate, the land on which we are built was at one time administered by George Washington. Founded on the banks of the Great Huntington Creek by the sons of the Earl of Tankerville, we are situated near Mount Vernon. Our 51-acre park is the highest point in Fairfax County.

We are proud to be part of the Dignity Memorial® national network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. We are committed to exceeding expectations and delivering a high standard of service to our families and their loved ones. Dignity Memorial providers offer exclusive benefits, including National Transferability of Prearranged Services, the Bereavement Travel Program, the 24-Hour Compassion Helpline® and access to an acclaimed grief management library. As North America’s premier provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services, the Dignity Memorial brand is your assurance of quality, value, caring service and exceptional customer satisfaction.
