History of Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum
Sherwood Memorial Park has been serving Clayton County and the surrounding communities since 1953. Sherwood sits on land that was once part of the 404-acre McCord Plantation that backed up to the Flint River. During the Civil War, in 1864, General William Tecumseh Sherman and his troops camped on this site.

In 2006, Sherwood became part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral providers which has locations all over the United States and Canada. Dignity Memorial providers offer exclusive benefits, including National Transferability of Prearranged Services, the Bereavement Travel Program, the 24-Hour Compassion Helpline® and access to an acclaimed grief management library. The Dignity Memorial brand is your assurance of quality, value, caring service and customer satisfaction.
