History of Whitemarsh Memorial Park
Whitemarsh Memorial Park has a proud history from its conception in 1928. At the time, the relatively new concept of only flat markers was part of the original design, giving the cemetery a park like appearance. Most of the structures, including the entrance fountain, mall boulevards and the 174-foot Tower of Chimes were done with the assistance of noted French architect, Paul Philippe Cret. As of 2010, Whitemarsh had more than 40,000 burials as well as numerous burial, mausoleum and cremation choices remaining, which are suitable for most families.
