Kermit was a good friend who was always was respectful of those around him. He loved his family and spoke about them often. He kept up with my son Kevin and always asked how he was doing. Kermit loved Cocopah and was excited to be an elected official. He tried to help the tribe make good business decisions using his past experiences. I miss Kermit and his keen sense of humor.

I was going to reach out to you today to check on you.  I came across your obituary and was immediately deeply saddened to learn of your passing.  The last decade has been challenging for both of us.  We built something together at Cocopah that we both understood and appreciated and it cemented our friendship and respect for each other.  When you brought me into the fold in Colorado, we both recognized what we were facing and spent quality, comfortable and trusting time together.  I know we both had plans for the future that included each other and it is with profound sadness and sense of loss that I read of your passing.  You were a pioneer, an advocate, a leader, and the strangest of friends.  I shall mourn you.  And I shall miss you.  One of the few people in this world that I actually trusted enough to call friend.  May the wind be at your back and your powder remain dry.  Good bye "Mr. Palmer "

I was very sorry to have learned of Kermit's recent passing.
He rode with us at 7 Generations as we met with many tribes to discuss economic development projects. 
I watched him in action before Tribal Council representatives all over the Southwest. 
Kermit's polished and highly professional style was well received and greatly respected.
He has left a legacy of having helped so many along his journey.
We will carry on his commitment to opening all doors of tribal opportunities.
Well done Kermit.
