

Mr. Rogers was a native of Oak Park, IL. He lived in Camillus, NY before moving to Fayetteville, NY and Sarasota, FL in 1999.
Mr. Rogers was a sales executive of the former Lincoln and Edsel Divisions of the Ford Motor Company. He entered the investment business in 1961 with Waddell & Reed, Inc. He founded his own financial planning company- Howard S. Rogers & Associates in 1974 and remained active in the firm until 1992.
Mr. Rogers was an armored unit commander during WWII. He fought in the battles of Northern France, the Ardennes, and the Rhineland. He was wounded and captured during the Battle of the Bulge but managed to escape in March of 1945. While serving in England, prior to the invasion, he met his future wife, Edna M. "Jonnie: Powell-Johnson. They were married for 50 years when she died in 1996.
Mr. Rogers was founder and the former president of the Thornton Manor Homeowners Association in Camillus, NY. He was also the former president of the board of directors of the Kimry Moor Homeowners Association of Fayetteville, NY and a member of the board of directors of Lakeshore Village Condominium Association in Sarasota, FL. Mr. Rogers was a member of DeWitt Community Church in DeWitt, NY and Church of the Palms in Sarasota, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Doris Rogers; his son Douglas Rogers of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his daughter Deborah (Dave) Kolceski of Solvay, NY; grandchildren David (Susan), and great-grandson Devin Kolceski of Liverpool, NY and Paul, Gregory and Jessica Kolceski of Solvay, NY; stepson Roger Dimick of Kansas City, MO; his sister Marilyn Brodd of Raleigh, NC; and several nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces. He was predeceased by his sister Phyllis Greene.
