We lost our beloved son to a recent tragedy. Shawn was born on September 18, 1985. He struggled for 10 plus years with many demons within him. Unfortunately, they were so strong they overtook his body and won the battle on January 20, 2017. However, Shawn was saved and believed in a higher power, God. The war has been won by our almighty heavenly Father. We know Shawn is pain free and at peace now. He is an angel in heaven with his wings spread wide to watch over and protect each family member and friend.
Shawn lived a roller coaster life of ups and downs because of his addiction. He tried so many times on his own to beat these demons and his family tried year after year to help him. When the demons weren’t tugging at him, he was a person you would want to be around and call your friend. He had a heart of gold. He didn’t judge you by the color of your skin or where you lived. He respected people and expected the same in return. Shawn helped many people along his way but he just couldn’t help himself. He was funny, always had a smile on his face, loved to play with his nephews and cousins’ children. He was a big kid himself. He was so full of life and wanted to live to its fullest.
His mother dedicated a song to him by Toby Mac ‘Move’ in 2016. She used the words of this song to encourage him to keep his head held high to God and to keep moving forward as a soldier. His family ask that if you are struggling in life right now, no matter what your afflictions may be, please listen to this song. When you need the strength that God is offering you, please reach out and He will guide you.
Shawn leaves behind many friends and family members. Mother and step-father, Melinda and Dion Robb, Father and step-mother, Willis (Bill) and Cassie Halfacre. One brother, Alexander Robb, four sisters, Krystal Halfacre Kanter, Danielle Robb Santiago, Delaney Robb and Amber Robb. Brother-in-law Anthony Santiago, four nephews, Jonathon and Weston Kanter, Joseph and Andrew Santiago. Loving grandparents Peggy and James Winslow (Nanny and Papa), Christine and Willis (Bill) Halfacre, Sr., many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
