Regina Theresa Sellers

Regina Theresa Sellers, 85, of Spring Branch, Texas, gained her wings on Tuesday, February 26, 2020. Born on October 15, 1934 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to parents Herman and Gertrude Schwartz, at 18, she enlisted in the US Navy, was a veteran of the Korean War, and served until her discharge in 1954. Regina met and married Ernest Emory Sellers while stationed in Maryland and began their family with the birth of John Mitchell quickly followed by Joni Michelle and Jesse Michael. In 1965, Regina and Ernie adopted two twin sons, Gerald and Lawrence, to complete their family. At the age of 39, Regina received her Master of Social Work and opened her family counseling practice while she raised five teenagers. Regina counseled hundreds of individuals and helped them overcome their life problems. She was also a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous, helping countless members to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Regina had many areas of interest that she was passionate about such as volunteering her time in support of Viet Nam Veterans and performing in many productions at Fort Sam Houston Playhouse, San Antonio Little Theater and the S.T.A.G.E. Theater in Bulverde, specializing in Melodrama productions. She also loved to travel the United States along with her five kids in a 1962 Volkswagen bus. She was an active member of the Cowboy Church and a devoted student of the Bible. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and longed for the day that she would meet Him in Heaven.

Regina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ernest Sellers and her brother Robert Schwartz. Left to cherish her memory is her soul mate and life partner Ron Berkley; her son John Sellers and wife Barbara; son Jesse Sellers and wife Linda; son Jerry Sellers and wife Brenda; son Larry; daughter Joni Sellers and husband Lee Cielonko; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many church and AA program members.

A private service with Military Honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on March 30, 2020.
