On Sunday, April 26, 2020 - Victor Medore, of Blairstown, NJ/Fort Myers, FL, loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 65. Vic was one of six children born on January 23, 1955 in Denville, NJ to Felix and Annina (Rastiello) Medore and raised in Rockaway, NJ.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years Kathleen, daughter Joleen and her husband Robert, son Victor and his wife Carmen, brothers Philip and wife Linda, Paul and wife Christine, Peter, and sister Patricia - and blessed with more in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends than could fit on one page.
He was predeceased by his daughter Reanna, brother Vincent, his parents Annina and Felix P. Medore, and stepfather David Castle.
If you had the pleasure of meeting Vic, you knew his passion for great food - which lead him to the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY) where he graduated near the top of his class in 1976. He spent the following 15 years as a professional chef, creating cuisine described as a “true experience”. Folks would travel from afar and wait in long lines to taste Vic’s latest creation. Eventually discovering he had a knack for sales, he moved out of the professional kitchen and into the sales sector of the food/beverage industry. He and his wife Kathleen worked together to build their successful business and to raise their family on their homestead in Blairstown, NJ. Vic’s favorite pastime was spent at home tending to his many fruit trees, gardens and animals. He was so proud to have been able to grow our own food and was a provider in every sense of the word.
Vic was a man of vision. Creativity flowed through every facet of his life. Perhaps best known for his sense of humor, he was known also for telling phenomenal stories, his love of all things relating to nature and for his innate desire to help others; be it a friend or a stranger, Vic would make himself available however he could in an effort to help others “win”. Vic was a promoter of determination and perseverance, having walked that walk - it was the talk he talked, and he shared those life experiences with friends and family.
Like so many, at this time we are unable to procure a mass or service, but will do so when we are able.
In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage that you express your love and gratitude to those around you, or to make a donation to your charity of choice.
Vic was loved by so many, and will be truly and dearly missed. Aloha Dad.
