Nancy Jane died May 11, 2020. She was predecessed by her husband Clyde Ashley, Sr. Nancy Jane was a native of Mobile, Alabama, born in 1933. She was a 1950 graduate of Murphy High School. She attended Ward Belmont College and graduated from Auburn University. She was a long time member of Government Street United Methodist Church.
Nancy had two sons Clyde Jr (Marilyn) and John ( Cecilia). She had three grandchildren, Lindsey, Lauren and Jonathan. She had one great grandchild, Eva Estelle. Nancy had two living siblings, Ella Chitwood and Lloyd Gardner.
Nancy loved art and was a talented artist. She drew the cover for the Mohian, the Murphy yearbook, the year she graduated from Murphy. She continued to audit art classes at the University of South Alabama and considered the professor and other students her friends. Nancy was also an animal lover, adopting stray cats as they came to her home.
Nancy will be missed by her children, grandchildren, sister and brother. Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home, Thursday 14, 2020, 6-8pm. Graveside services, 11am, Friday, May 15, 2020 at Magnolia Cemetery.
