Lucinda Skinner, 85, of DeQuincy, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. She was born in Navasota, TX. on October 6, 1934. She was a faithful member of First Church of God In Christ where she served on the Mother's Board, Breakfast Committee, Sunday School member, and Hospitality. She enjoyed Bible studies, praying, church choir, and her hobbies included reading, and watching TV.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Alvin Skinner, Sr.; sons, Alvin Skinner, Jr and wife Myrtis of DeQuincy, Charles Skinner and wife Elizabeth of Houston, TX, Gary Skinner and wife Cheri of Sulphur; daughters, Brenda Iles and husband David of DeRidder, Vessa Simmons and husband Marvin of DeRidder, Margaret Brown and husband Gary of DeQuincy, Peggy Poindexter and husband Derwin of Moss Bluff; multitude of God children; sisters, Hazel Jackson, Ida Beatrice McCoy, both of DeQuincy; 29 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
Lucinda is preceded in death by her parents, Calvert Vinson and Ivory Vinson Palmer; one son, James Skinner; two brothers, James Calvert Vinson, Ceasar Ray Palmer; two sisters, Pearlie Moon, and Jessie Mae Adams.
Services will be held at First Church of God In Christ in DeQuincy at 11:00am on Saturday, February 8, 2020, with Pastor Clifton David officiating. Visitation will begin at the church on Saturday, from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Community Cemetery. Services entrusted to Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy.
