Located in a beautiful, 2-story, Victorian-style home on West Street, the stately facility is warm, welcoming, comfortable and spacious. The grounds are manicured to perfection. Inside and out, Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel is the ideal place to plan a funeral, gather for reflection and celebrate a life.

Unique services

Our experienced and compassionate staff knows that losing a loved one is hard, and we're here to guide you every step of the way. We offer everything from a traditional church funeral and cemetery burial to a modern celebration of life with live music, catering and a send-off that reflects the personality and passions of yourself or your loved one. We strive to create meaningful tributes to those who have meant so much to family and friends. Do you want a dove release? You got it. How about personalized sparklers as a memento? You can have those, too. What about a horse-driven carriage to carry your loved one away? Yes. The list is literally endless.

History

Established in Brantford in 1860 as H.S. Pierce Funeral Home, Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel is the second-oldest business in Brantford and a pillar of the community.

Already in the funeral profession in Burk’s Falls, Wilfred A. Thorpe and his brothers, O.J. Thorpe and R.R. Thorpe, purchased H.S. Pierce Funeral Home in 1917 and renamed it Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home. Originally located on Colborne Street, Thorpe Brothers offered limited services until Wilfred bought the Victorian-style home of Canadian author, Sara Jeanette Duncan, and turned it into the stately full-service funeral facility it is today.

Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home became part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers in 1991. Our business has evolved to meet the changing needs of the Brantford community. Our range of service options now includes everything from a traditional funeral to a modern celebration of life with live music, catering and a send-off that reflects the personality and passions of yourself or your loved one.

Day or night, we are always here to help.
