C.W. Smiley

C.W. Smiley, 84 of Amarillo passed away September 8, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Magloughlin officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. C.W. was born October 20, 1931 in Dickens County, Texas to David and Artie Smiley. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1955. C.W. married the love of his life, Susie Loretta Green on April 24, 1955. Susie passed away in 2010 after 55 years of marriage. C.W. loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved to work with his hands and could actually fix just about anything. He and Susie really enjoyed spending time going to garage sales. Most recently C.W. and his “driving buddies” worked with dealerships transporting cars, new and old, from city to city for customers. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susie Smiley; his parents; two brothers, David Smiley and Ronald Dean Smiley; and a sister, Thelma Lou Brantley. He is survived by his son, Randy Smiley and wife Jeanetta; daughter, Bonnie Smiley; grandchildren, Justin Smiley and wife Brenna, Joshua Smiley, Jennifer Fehr and husband John and Grace Smiley; great-grandchildren, Claire, Libby and Wyatt Smiley and Landon, Sean and Abigail Fehr; and his sisters, Olive Massie and Goldie Sweeney.
