Luretta was born on November 10, 1947 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo,TX to Leslie and
Florene Davis. She is the youngest of 7 children, including 3 sisters: Carol, Martha, and
Charlotte, and 2 brothers: Lary and Dean.
Her life was spent caring for others in all ways, from her career to her family. She began a
career as a Nursing Assistant that spanned more than 50 years and included multiple hospitals,
clinics, and Nursing/Assisted Living Homes, ending with a final retirement from Texas
Panhandle Mental Health in 2016.
When not working, Luretta’s extra time was spent on the lake, or camping with her husband
and children. As the years passed, and each new member or baby was added to the family, was
just a new camping buddy for Luretta. Everyone was welcomed with open arms, and love.
Luretta was more than a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong unwavering
matriarch that will be deeply missed.
Luretta is survived by her loving husband Terry, whom she married on June 23, 1969. They
spent an incredible 50 years together working to build a beautiful life, raising children, and
camping lakeside. She leaves behind 3 children and their spouses-- son Leslie and wife Brenda,
son Steve and wife Patty, and daughter Leigh and husband Albert. She is loved and missed by
8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren
