Richard Joseph Smet

Richard Joseph Smet, 87 of Zellwood, FL passed away on October 30, 2018. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on April 13, 1931. Richard retired as an Aircraft Engineer and was very talented with his hands. He enjoyed playing golf, playing the guitar and singing and was a big jokester. A very caring man, he was a dedicated provider for his family and had the biggest heart of any person you would ever meet. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lorraine; his children: David Smet and his wife Brenda, April Mitchell and her husband Ted, Jodi Arrowsmith and her husband Jon and Brenda Smet; his step-children: Christine & Garth and Jennifer & Ken; his 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 3 from 2 – 4 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Apopka. The funeral service will follow at 4 PM in the funeral home chapel.
