Stanley graduated from Pascal High School in 1964. He joined the Air Force shortly after graduation and served four years. He was stationed in Vietnam during part of his time and worked as an electrician on air craft.
Stanley has been a member of Pleasantview Baptist Church since 1956. While at Pleasantview (formerly Trentmen Avenue Baptist) he sang in the choir and in a quartet. He worked as a carpenter for over 25 years. After retiring from that career, he started a new career as a bass singer in a gospel quartet. He traveled and sang with Shiloh for 15 years. During that time they traveled to Australia in 2000 for the Olympics. They also traveled to Venezuela, Alaska, and all over the United States.
Stanley was always building, repairing, and "fixing" things. He loved to stay busy. He also loved spending time with his family and his puppy, Pepper.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Luce.
Left to cherish Stanley's memory is his wife of 39 years, Charlotte Carter Luce; four children, Denise LaRue and husband, Jeremy, Joey Luce and wife, Amy; Marc Richburg and wife Lisa; and Candace Luce; his mother, Verrena Luce; his grandchildren, Morgan Baggett, Madison Baggett, Brett Luce, Seth Richburg, Carson Luce, Macy LaRue, Grace Richburg, Judson Richburg, Rosalee LaRue, and Georgia LaRue. Stanley is also survived by many cousins and friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Pleasantview Baptist Church.
