Dr. Norvan Meyer made many positive contributions to Veterinary Medicine and the improvement of animal health worldwide.  It was a great honor to be able to work with him during my career with the United States Department of Agriculture.  He will be greatly missed.  My condolences and sympathy to his wife Aileen Meyer and his whole family.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences.  May the beautiful memories you shared ease your pain.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

The Dow Puckett Children wish to send their most heart felt condolences to the family of Norvan Meyer. HIs work on the "Screw Worm" problems in west texas have never been forgotten. May peace find you in your hour of sadness and grief.

I am grateful for Norvan for what he did for my father. Just recently our family took a mission trip to Chiapas Mexico in a town near Tuxtla Gutierrez.  During our stay a man who is the major donor to the orphanage where we stayed mentioned that there was an airport behind the orphanage.  I told him that my father had helped Norvan build the eradication plants for the "screw worm" program in Mexico.  Capt'n stopped in full sentence and said the plant was just behind the orphanage. At that moment I had wonderful thoughts of my father and of his good friend Norvan.  
Norvan was a kind and loving man and a good friend to my family. I send my blessings and many thanks to your family. All of you were very special to the Ellwoods!

 We will all miss  Dear cousin Norvan He was such a special guy, he accomplished much in his life.  He was my Cuz-Cuz because his Mom was my Dad's sister and his Dad was my Mom's brother.  He was full of jokes just like my Dad was.  Wow when they got together it was quit a scene.  I loved him so much and told him so many times as he did me.  Love to you all.   Norma Kuhlmann

I have fond memories of the times when we would make a trip to Deerfield, KS, to visit Uncle Herbert & Aunt Wilma, Norvan and Serena.  I remember the turkeys and the grasshoppers, jack rabbits and the irrigation canals and the fun doing the things kids enjoy doing. I have to mention that it was more challenging with our 1928 Chevrolet that it would be with the vehicles of today.
  We extend our sympathy to you on the death of your beloved husband and father.

Dr. Norvan Meyer taught me numerous lessons during my association with him at APHIS.  The most important lesson---the value and importance of never giving up---he demonstrated through his perseverance in the screwworm program and in dealing with his health issues.  I will be forever grateful.  May he rest in peace.

I had many years of association and collaboration with Norvan even though I was on the "plant side."  However, we were both on the "international side."  I retired from APHIS 18-1/2 years ago.
