My heart is so heavy over the passing of sweet Evan. I am a Para in the life skills program at Pioneer Elementary. I got to share time with him everyday in the health room while he and my student ate. His infectious smile and laugh pulled me into his world. His world was joy and happiness and I couldn't help but want to be a part of it. I talked to him and held his hands and he "talked" back. I called them our "conversations". We had many over the past two years. He brought out the best in me and I feel so blessed that I got to know him. He is so missed already. Walk on streets of gold, sweetheart! Evan will forever be in my heart.

Its hard to find the words to express how whole-heartedly devastated I am to hear about Evan's passing. My heart aches for his family, his parents, and his young siblings- this loss is so unexpected and heartbreaking. Evan was an incredible little guy- he had a beautiful spirit and infectious giggle. He was a gift to all of us who worked with him at Pioneer Elementary these past 2 years. I feel lucky to have had the privilege of knowing him. Some of the sweetest interactions I've witnessed in our Life Skills program were between Evan and his special needs peers. He brought out a gentle, playful side in others and it was an absolute joy to see. Evan will be greatly missed by all who knew him. All my love to Evan's family.

I had the privilege of being Evan’s physical therapist at school for the past 2 years. I always looked forward to my sessions with him- his giggles and smiles were so heartwarming. Evan had an inner joy that bubbled out and was contagious. He was so proud of himself when he accomplished something new- even though every movement was a challenge, he worked hard and would beam with delight when he was successful. Evan is going to leave such a huge void at Pioneer, but I am comforted by the image of him enjoying his new, healthy body in heaven.

I had the pleasure of providing vision services for Evan for the past 3 years. He was such a joy to work with! What a beautiful boy, with a beautiful soul. Despite all of his hardships he smiled brightly and always found joy. Thank you for sharing Evan with us. He blessed the lives of everyone he met. Sending love to his family!
