Daniel Joseph Sautner

8 October, 195225 March, 2020

Daniel Sautner, age 67, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at his home in Bogart, GA, while surrounded by loved ones.

Dan was born in Toronto, Canada and was the Chairman and CEO of the Padgett Business Services franchise organization, SmallBizPros, Inc., headquartered in Athens, GA. He joined the company in 1986, working first in Canada and then in the United States. Dan became both a mentor and a friend to his colleagues at Padgett; he took great joy--both professional and personal--in their successes.

Dan is survived by Janice, his loving wife of 44 years; by 4 sisters; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Dan supported and participated in local charities such as the Lions Club International and Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. Dan's passions were cooking, collecting fine wine, and taking annual trips to Montalcino, Italy, where he and Janice enjoyed the company of many friends. He is fondly remembered by family and friends for his wisdom, generosity, eccentricity, and capacity to love.

A private gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dan’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

  • A private family service will be held at a later date.

Dear Sautner Family,
I'd like to send you my best memories of Dan as I had the chance to meet with him along with Janice in late 90's in Athens and Atlanta. I keep great memories of his kindness and always kept in mind this wonderful couple they formed with Janice. We had a terrific time with them both when we stayed at your place in 2001 I believe with my wife Christine.

Dear Janice,
I'll be happy to chat with you someday, feel free to contact me. All my best in this difficult times. You have all our support and caring love.
