Ed Gromer

Ed was born the son of John and Deloris (Maulding) Gromer in Pontiac, Michigan on May 6, 1953. He graduated from Avondale High School in the class of 1971. Ed earned his bachelor’s degree from Oakland University. He joined General Motors and worked in many leadership positions until his retirement in 2010.

Ed loved to build and drive hotrod and roadster cars. He was talented at restoring cars and spent hours making them work again. Ed’s yard was his second passion. He was always raking and planting new grass seed.

Ed is survived by his son Jonathan (Amanda) Gromer; father John Gromer; grandson Caleb; and siblings Pamela (Gerald) Gartee and Larry Gromer as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Deloris Gromer.

Ed’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Thursday March 14, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday March 15th from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Rd. in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Interment will follow at Ottawa Park Cemetery.
