Rebecca Linda Schalkoort November 20, 1971 - April 14, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca at the Margaret Bahen Hospice. Rebecca is the beloved daughter of Violet Schalkoort and sister of Rachael, Ramona and Robert, the 4 R's as their houseboat growing up was so-named. She is also the beloved aunt of Ryan, Tye, Zoey and Abby. She will be missed by everyone who knew her because you could not have met her and not loved her bubbly personality. Rebecca battled with cancer for more than 7 years and throughout her battle she remained positive and encouraging to others.

If desired, donations in her memory may be made to Margaret Bahen Hospice, myhospice.ca

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ThompsonFH-Aurora.com for the Schalkoort family.

It is overwhelmingly sad to hear of the passing of a childhood friend. The brilliance of her smile, her laughter, and her friendship were constants in my life while we were growing up. My sincerest condolences to Rebecca's family, along with all the strength and prayers I can send during this sorrowful time. Rebecca, may you rest in peace and your memory be eternal.

As clear as day I still remember Rebecca in the Grade 11 Wexford fashion show.
This was the first time I’ve seen her all glamoured up and she wowed the whole packed auditorium. She was stunning , her smile was beaming, her eyes were sparkling, her personality was radiating, she owned that stage and everyone knew it.
This is how I will remember you always my old friend. Sorry we lost touch over the years ... I will always be saddened by your passing but you will never be forgotten.

I remember very cleary the first time I met Rebecca, her personality was such that she made it fun being around her.
The way she spoke and expressed herself made time in her company enjoyable. I am saddened by the news of her death. She will be missed.
My deepest condolences to her family as they cope with the loss of a loved one.

Beckster was one of life, laughs and telling it the way it was...she was more importantly a true friend and the owner of a huge heart. There are way too many stories and to short of space to even to touch a few. My memories contain nothing but laughs, bad jokes and a few head scratchers. She was loved and remembered by all who she crossed paths with. It is painful to believe she is gone. She fought one hell of a fight. She braved when others would have gave up. She was stubborn to a fault. She did her very very best to fight the fight. Her spirit will live on and there is not a day where she does not touch my mind nor my heart. Her passing will leave a void in the life’s of her friends and family she leaves behind. Beckster, I miss you and one day we will be at a desk negotiating some kind of deal on something. Until then save me a seat. Walk among the angels.

To my baby sister,

Once an older sister always an older sister. I will always love you. And not even death can undo how I feel. Love is a beautiful quality endowed upon humans from our Creator. I look forward to the time when He will 'give you to your mother' (Luke 7:15) by resurrecting you and giving you to your family. And we will continue to be sisters as God purposed. You are my sister, my baby sister and always will be!
