We met Charlie Preston at Air Force Village in San Antonio when he first arrived.  Charlie was getting somewhat forgetful, but his infectious smile and impish personality made him a favorite around the Village.  He line danced with us even though he couldn't remember the steps, but his enthusiasm more than made up for that.  My husband and I were surprised to find that he used to live in Prescott, Arizona the same time we did.  My husband was a physician at the VA Hospital in Prescott and commented he didn't think he had ever met Charlie there.  With that little gnome like smile, I am sure we would have remembered him if we had met prior to retiring to San Antonio..
We've missed Charlie.. Since he left, people here at the Village still speak of him and we all wished him well. It was a pleasure to call Charlie our friend.  He is missed. Our condolences to his family. Thank you for sharing him with us for a short time.
