Irene Hayes

Irene was born on a farm, north of Walters, Oklahoma on the 11th of September 1912 to William S. Trotter and Mary Lynds Trotter. She graduated from Walters High School with the class of 1930. After graduation from high school she went on to college where she received an Associate degree. She worked at the hospital at Fort Sill where she met and fell in love with her first husband, Ivan Pittman. Irene was preceded in death by husbands, Ivan Pittman and Weldon Hayes; brothers, Stephanus Trotter and Howard Trotter, both of Oklahoma.

Irene is survived by sons, Jerry Pittman (wife Vicki) of Bryan, and George Pittman of Houston; daughters, Brenda Nelson of Austin and Priscilla Blaiss (husband Dennis) of Winston Salem, NC; nine grandchildren and 12 great children.

A visitation with the family will be held Sunday, the 29th of January 2012 from three o’clock until half past five at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd.

The funeral service will be conducted at ten o’clock Monday, the 30th of January 2012 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Skyview Baptist Church, Austin, TX, or to a charity of your choice.
